Restaurant ReviewsVietnamese Chinese Food Restaurant in San Diego CA
Vietnamese Chinese Lunch for $5.00!
There are literally hundreds of restaurants in the City đ€“ Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, vegetarian đ€” that serve lunches, usually with soup and an entree over rice, for under $5. Chinese restaurants include tea and, often, fruit.
My favorite block in San Diego is Convoy, between Balboa and Clairemont Mesa, where there are a number of chinese, vietnamese, korean, and japanese restaurants with such lunches.
Since those days, the restaurant has expanded by taking a large loft-like place right next door, and has retained its upscale food, at very decent prices. Portions are large, so one dish can provide a good meal. Tea is served, as in most Chinese restaurants, at no charge. It is usually jammed at lunch and dinner.
My favorite among them is Roll Fresh, which has been there for over a year, and which specializes in seafood. The quality of the food is high, and has been consistently so over many years of existence.
You can try other asian restaurants on the block. Look them over, check their menus, and choose one that you like. Some appear more attractive than others. Most are good, and have been there for years.
There are literally hundreds of Chinese restaurants in San Diego CA. Most are familyđ€“or relativeđ€“owned and operated, and provide good to excellent food, at low prices. Here is one of my favorites: Two can eat well at dinner, family-style, by choosing one appetizer or soup (a bowl is a starter for up to 4), and one entree per person. Often, the entrees are so large that one appetizer or soup and two entrees are enough for three persons. This keeps the price under $10 per person.
